The Force Ramp panel is divided into 2 sections. The top section has the main controls for the force ramp. The bottom section has controls for doing a "molecule" trigger. Basically, this stops the force ramp if a molecule is attached to the AFM tip.
- Surface trigger: Amount of force to press the AFM tip into the surface.
- Force Distance: Distance that the tip is retracted from when it is in contact with the surface
- Approach Velocity: Velocity that the tip approaches the surface with
- Retract Velocity: Velocity that the tip retracts away from the surface with.
- Surface Dwell Time: Time spent in contact with the surface.
- Sample Rate: Frequency that the force-extension data is sampled at. Must be 50KHz or less.
- Callback: Procedure that executes when the force ramp is done.
- Molecule Trigger?: When checked, this will determine if a molecule is attached to the surface by looking for a certain amount of force (Molecule trigger force) after a certain distance (No Trigger distance)
- Molecule trigger: Amount of force that determines if a molecule is attached
- No trigger distance: Distance the tip is retract that the molecule trigger will NOT engage. This is useful to avoid false triggering from adhesion forces.
- Filtered trigger channel: when checked, this will create a special channel that has additional filtering so that noise won't cause false molecule triggers.
- Filter Frequency: Frequency for filtered channel
- Single Force: When pressed, this will execute a force ramp with all of the above settings. Does not typically need to be used for the centering program.
- View Settings Waves: Will bring up the 2 settings waves for this ramp.
